The "Three Drop" shelter for disaster relief workers

The main concept behind my design is a water droplet.  Flexible and strong, a water droplet is a fluid vessel that adjusts and flows according to its environment.  It is an internationally recognized symbol of life and should be respected as a force for construction and destruction.  Using curved surfaces and interconnecting spaces to evoke a sense of balance and flow, my design brings together three water droplets.  Each droplet contains a unique interior tailored to a designated purpose: relaxation, sanitation and rejuvenation.  In contrast, the exterior shells of all three droplets are identical and can be connected on site to form a residential shelter for twelve disaster relief workers.  Featuring contoured lines and interlocking shapes, this "three droplet" shelter encourages its residents to operate communally, while considering the ways we come together to form a whole.  Disaster relief is a necessary action that requires the synthesis of resources, strategies and people.  It's not often that we come face to face with issues of survival, and under such circumstances it is absolutely key to collaborate and come together as one.  Hopefully this design will inspire such a mentality.
